Alan Strang (Daniel Radcliffe) is a seemingly normal 17-year old teenager with a passion for horses. Then one night he blinds six horses with a hoof pick. What drove him to it? He gets placed under psychiatric surveillance and only psychiatrist Martin Dysart (Richard Griffiths) seems able to grasp the answer to this psychological puzzle.
The psychologist is played by Richard Griffiths whose stage and screen career spans over two decades. He has won this year's Tony Award for his performance in the Broadway production of "The History Boys".
